Metaphysical Counselling
The concept in Metaphysics is to go beyond the limited self of the individual, to the spiritual nature surrounding each of us.
Belief in the Mind, Body and Spirit relationship is the foundation for metaphysical work. Metaphysics is a philosophy which maintains that we live in a universe of Infinite Intelligence and natural order which permeates all existence. Our true spiritual nature is one of total harmony and we are always connected to God or Universal Power.
Just as imbalances can occur in bodily energy causing physical disease, imbalances in the way we perceive ourselves or aspects of our lives can cause “disease” or loss of harmony in our day to day experience.
Spiritual perfection is reached through sessions of meditation and visualisation. Much of the work is based on intuition and the belief that getting in touch with each person’s Inner Wisdom will lead to greater understanding and self-awareness.
What happens at session
At the first meeting you will be asked a series of questions about your background and life history. This will make it possible to ascertain what kind of thought processes are contributing to the problems you are currently experiencing. As the core issues emerge, you may at some time during the session be asked to close your eyes for a short while to meditate or relax. Sometimes guided visualisations are used to help reveal and heal the source of your presenting difficulties. Metaphysical Practitioners do not claim to be psychologists or psychotherapists. We work with definite Spiritual Principles that help clients to help themselves.
During the session positive words or affirmation may be spoken out loud concerning your problem or you may be given a short written statement for you to repeat to yourself between sessions. This is known as a Spiritual Mind Treatment and affirms the Truth about you and your situation. People generally find this comforting, reassuring and beneficial.
You don't have to have long-standing problems to benefit from metaphysical counselling. the beneficial effects may be experienced en resolving all sorts of minor day to day issues and, like other complimentary therapies, sessions tend to restore a sense of peace and well-being.
